WORKSHOP 1: Improvising Across Boundaries
Percussionist and electro-acoustic artist Michael McNab will direct an inclusive workshop, curating improvisations that embrace the contributions of participants with a range of skill levels and backgrounds. The workshop will create a safe space to explore risk and discover new musical possibilities, guided by strategies that allow the individual's unique perspective to be balanced by the collective goals of an improvising ensemble.

WORKSHOP 2: Composing Beyond Notation
Celebrated clarinettist and performance maker Aviva Endean will guide a deep dive into the many ways musical ideas are constructed and communicated without using traditional musical notation. Drawing on her background as an improviser, composer and installation artist, she will unravel how a musical concept evolves into a fully formed work, touching on such topics as form, audience interaction and designing unique ways to extend the possibilities of acoustic instruments.

Jacuzzi/Portmanteau
The audience moves between two spaces in a two-hour immersive installation by Andy Butler and Annelise Roberts. A chamber ensemble intones clandestine harmonies of Thelonious Monk - stretched and distilled to their subtlest, most understated essence - intermingled with a live literary performance on typewriter.
WORKSHOP 3: Going Live with Electronics
Reuben Lewis will provide an introduction to the countless ways that electronics can enhance live performance, drawing on his expertise melding acoustic trumpet with digital effects processing and synthesizers. This workshop will be designed for early career artists and established musicians looking for new artistic possibilities in electro-acoustic performance and live electronics.
